An Emergency Operations Centre is a central location for multi-agency disaster response coordination and communication. It maintains a strategic overview, gathers and analyses data, supports operational decisions and communicates those decisions to concerned agencies.
The Nagaland SEOC operates from Lotha Hoho Ki in Kohima and supports effective response to emergencies throughout the state.
Nagaland has trained response personnel from India Reserve battalions, District Executive Forces and Village Guards. A dedicated force of 240 Civil Defence and Home Guards personnel is stationed at key locations for timely response.
During normal periods, SDRF personnel conduct awareness programmes in villages, schools and colleges. During disasters, they form the first line for search and rescue operations.
